Is it wrong to love tidying my wardrobe so much? It is one of the activities I always try to do during the school holidays; it reminds me of what I already have to wear, makes things easier to find and has an aesthetically pleasing result. I also try to use it as an opportunity … Continue reading
Jam for (almost) free.
The local hedgerows yielded 4.5kg of blackberries, so 2.5kg went in the freezer and 2kg went into making my first ever homemade jam. It tastes amazing, as long as you don’t mind the pips and will be topping my first ever homemade yogurt for breakfast.
Sunday night is…
Yes, of course, you know by now, it’s cocktail night and we have a new one for me, a Cosmopolitan. Made for me by Ags. Mmm, delicious
Cocktail season is back again
After a recent trip to Barbados where I quizzed the bartender for his rum cocktail recipe, I am unashamedly about to share it with you: 2 shots Mount Gay rum, juice of 1 1/2 limes, large slug of sugar syrup, dash of Angostura bitters, stir then top up with ice and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Antique lace skirt transformation

This one was in fact served at the Bristol Botanical Garden’s Jazz picnic and was beautified with the addition of borage flowers. The traditional Pimms is made from 1 part Pimms to 3 parts lemonade. A … Continue reading
skirt refashion
I got this size 16 broderie anglaise mini dress from a charity shop for £4.50. I thought it was worth that for the fabric as I had been thinking of making a lacy skirt. First I separated the skirt for the top: Then I inserted a small zip and took in the sides and back … Continue reading

It’s not Sunday without… a cocktail! Today’s featured cocktail is the Long Island Iced Tea. This involved 5 different bottles from the drinks cabinet and proved highly intoxicating. Strangely, it tastes nothing like tea. The recipe came from the man’s cocktail recipe book, created by loving daughter and offered for Christmas along with a cocktail … Continue reading
